One Year Since The Flood

December 5, 2016

Last October the state was hit with a massive flood that ravished the state. Twenty inches of rain fell across the state. Businesses and homes were destroyed as creeks and rivers overflowed with water causing flooding.

“We had eleven feet of water in the building and obviously had to close and the building was not usable, we lost all of our equipment, furniture, everything we own. We saved a few kennels. There were no animals in the building because we normally do not keep animals there.”

Dr. Tracey Wales Four Paws Animal Clinic Veterinarian.

“It looked like a warzone underneath the house. So what happened was is the gutters in the front of the house collapsed forward and created a funnel, gathered all the water off the roof and effectively created a six foot hole in the yard in front of the house.”

Across the state people are still recovering from the Thousand Year flood.
