Boys and Girls Basketball Start the Season with Wins!

Both boys and girls varsity basketball began their seasons 1-0 after wins against Heathwood Hall.  Girls dominated offensively, featuring Spring Valley transfer student Sophomore Bayleigh Ponds and  Dashia Jackson.  Girls kept their consistency and kept the last half leading by a  very wide margin, finishing with a 25 point difference, 56- 31.

Varsity boys basketball recently lost junior standout Marquise Riley  to a hand injury; he is projected to be out for around five weeks (Carey Rich, reporter).  Still, the team adapted well with Junior James Fuller- Davis scoring 18 and Lower Richland transfer Alex Caldwell with 19 points.  With four minutes left in quarter 2, Northeast lead by 1.   At the half, the boys lead by 5; 28- 23. The boys kept it close most of the game, finishing with an 8 point lead, 47- 55.  Both boys and girls varsity face district rival Westwood High School on Friday, December 4th.
