The first round of the playoffs
The Cavalier family packed the stands, with sounds of excitement and support, for the first round of the playoffs. On February 19th, the Cavaliers faced the Blue Ridge Tigers in the first round of the playoffs. At the start of the game, the boys started off strong keeping the lead the entire time, with a hard defense to beat. Three-pointer, a hard press play, and free-throws were the Cavs claim to fame that night, although Blue Ridge had them beat with rebounds and defensive steals. Blue Ridge was not successful in keeping up the stamina and strength of the Cavaliers and their motivation to win. The Cavaliers won the first round of the playoffs with a score of 54 to 36.
In the second round, the Cavs were not as successful as the first round. In the second round of the playoffs, the Cavaliers played the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets. In the first quarter the boys started off with a lead of seven points by the end of the second quarter the Cavs had an eight-point lead. At the beginning of the third quarter, Lower Richland came back and played stronger and harder by the end of the third quarter leading with a three-point difference. The boys played hard to keep up with Lower Richland, keeping the scores close in the final quarter and successfully led the boys into overtime. The Cavs, unfortunately, fell to the Lower Richland Diamond Hornet with the final score of 46 to 55.
