Half-day ends with Winter sports pep rally
The student body gathered in the gymnasium on Jan. 13 for a winter sports pep rally. With the theme, “Shooting Towards Our Dreams,” athletes from girls basketball, boys basketball, and boys wrestling were recognized. The spirit stick competition tradition took place, and the juniors won the prize for most school spirit. During the pep rally, a student dance battle took place and there were performances from the RNE cheer team, Delta Sigma Theta sorority, and SC-based rapper AyoJack. Mr. Eugene Washington recited a speech by Dr. Martin Luther King for the student body, in recognition of the upcoming MLK Holiday on Monday, Jan. 16.
