Softball’s New Coach

David Beacham has coached travel and rec league softball for 9 years.  Beacham said, “I came to Northeast this year to try and help the program build and gain a good reputation. I understand it will take time but the end result will be worth it”. Seeing Coach Beacham teach the girls in practice, shout out tips when they are on the mound, and interact with the players in the dugout has had a very positive impact on the team. He helps to calm them down when frustrated and get the next batter rather than worrying about everything that has happened earlier in the game. He congratulates the girls after they make a good play and moves on to the next one.

After a tough loss he motivates them to play their heart out the next one. 7th grade varsity second baseman Isabel Srulevich says “He makes a positive impact on the team and really lifts our spirits when we’re down.” Srulevich started the year as a varsity pitcher/outfielder but eventually worked her way to the infield.

Two new pitchers, Rose Beacham and Isabel Srulevich, explain how he has helped them and the team. Beacham said that, “He has helped coach me on proper form and technique to be able to throw the ball more accurately with more speed.” Srulevich said, “Coach Beacham has helped me with the form needed to hit my spots and strike out more batters, basically be a better pitcher and player overall.” This just goes to show how good of an impact the new pitching coach has made on the softball team.
