With every new year comes change, especially for people new to Richland Northeast, and it’s a good idea to be prepared for what school life is like at RNE.

Schedule

Richland Northeast’s Bell Schedule

One of the most important things to know is when and where you’re classes and other activities are. Richland Northeast uses an AB schedule, meaning that every school day is either an A or a B day, which determines which classes you go to on that day. There are four blocks per day, and a lunch between second and third block.

Richland Northeast also has what is called “late start” every Wednesday, unless announced otherwise, school starts at 09:30 instead of 08:35, making all of the classes slightly shorter.

Identification

At Richland Northeast, having and wearing an ID at all times on campus is compulsory. If you don’t have one, you can get one at the ISS room. Students caught without proper identification can be punished for doing so with lunch detention.

Agenda

Keeping track of what and when work is due is very difficult, especially with eight classes. Having a homework planner or an agenda can help assuage most of these issues, by making it infinitely easier to know what work is due when. For most people, having an agenda or a homework planner is required all but nominally, due to it’s high versatility and usefulness.

Note Taking

Taking notes in school is something that every student will have to do. Some teachers are fine with any kind of notes, but other teachers will request specifically “Cornell Notes” for their class. Effectively taking cornell notes is something that is important for every student to know how to do in order to succeed.

Hopefully these tips and tricks will help you have a successful year here at Richland Northeast High School.
