2023 has been a big year for music.
Megastars and indie-artists alike have given us great pieces to dance to, cry to, and even yell. As someone who has listened to over 168,956 minutes of music this year (according to Spotify Wrapped), I say with certainty that I am a music-lover.
And because my opinion is so important, I present to you my top 10 favorite songs to come out of 2023 in no particular order.
-
MY HOUSE - Beyoncé
Even though this song only came out a few days ago, I knew it had to make the list. This song sounds like it could belong on her incredible 2022 album "Renaissance" in the best way possible and I do not see myself getting tired of it anytime soon.
-
Dance The Night - Dua Lipa
No matter how overplayed this song became in the summer of 2023, I still love and appreciate it for what it is. It just perfectly captures the energy of the Barbie movie, especially the disco-dancing sequence it was used in for the movie.
-
Boy's a liar, Pt. 2 - PinkPantheress & Ice Spice
The remix of this 2022 single makes me want to dance the second it comes on. Ice Spice's captivating verse enhances an already great song.
-
Cobra - Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion is showing her fans a new side to her creative abilities with some rock 'n' roll flare in this rap song. She became very vulnerable with her songwriting in this extremely depressing yet upbeat song.
-
Ant Pile - Dominic Fike
This title track off of Dominic Fike's 2023 EP "Ant Pile" is one of his best if you ask me. From the lyrics to the incredible guitar, it is just an all around fun and tasteful song.
-
all-american b**** - Olivia Rodrigo
To say this is a great song off of a great album would be an understatement. Olivia Rodrigo had very high expectations to meet after her hit album "SOUR", and she definitely met them with this incredible timeless song that captures 70s guitar and 90s punk.
-
Pretty Girls - Reneé Rapp
It was hard to pick one song off of this alum, but it is definitely my personal favorite. I would highly recommend listening to this song with a pair of quality headphones on because of its amazing production and instrumental elements that remind me of Lorde.
-
drive ME crazy! - Lil Yachty
Coming from Lil Yachty's 2023 album "Let's Start Here", this song has become one of his most popular, and for good reason. The unique instrumental and modern R&B sound of this song improves my mood every time I hear it.
-
Now That We Don't Talk - Taylor Swift
I obviously could not curate this list without mentioning my girl, Taylor Swift. She re-recorded yet another one of her albums this year and in doing so, gave fans this fun pop song that she wrote at the time of the original album, but never released.
-
Cool About It - boygenius
Last but most certainly not least, I have chosen a song off of boygenius' incredible new album titled "The Record." The writing on this particular song is so extraordinarily heart-wrenching that I rarely bring myself to listen to it.

That is a lot of minutes listening to music. Wow!! Interesting list of music you mentioned, but there weren’t any christian songs included in the top 10. There is a whole other genre that can be explored. Fantastic music to check out. I challenge everyone to check it out.

I like the mix of pop radio and deeper cuts here. I wish I could click on a sample of each song.
