On Friday, RNE hosted its first pep rally of the year in anticipation of its home football game against its longtime rival, Spring Valley High. The game determines which school gets the Sword and Saber Trophy for the next year.

The pep rally kicked off with Student government dancing to hype up the crowd. Next up, the football team took to the floor for a brief introduction, followed by a grand performance by the marching band.

The rally ended with the schoolwide singing of the alma mater before students were dismissed back to class.

The game between Richland Northeast and Spring Valley took place at 7:30 p.m. that evening. A final score of 45-13 led to a victory for the Cavaliers, and the Sword and Saber Trophy remaining at RNE.
